Best OBS Settings for Streaming Elden Ring in 2026

Elden Ring is a visually stunning open-world RPG that streams beautifully when configured correctly. Its slower pace compared to competitive shooters means you can get excellent quality at moderate bitrates.

Recommended Settings

Twitch

  • 1080p 60fps: 5,000–6,000 Kbps, NVENC (New), Preset P5
  • 1080p 30fps: 4,000–4,500 Kbps — acceptable since Elden Ring caps at 60fps anyway

YouTube Live

  • 1080p 60fps: 8,000–10,000 Kbps
  • 1440p 60fps: 12,000–15,000 Kbps

Why Elden Ring Streams Well

Elden Ring has moderate compression complexity. While the environments are detailed, the camera movement is relatively controlled (third-person, no rapid spinning). Boss fights increase complexity with particle effects, but the overall scene is manageable.

At 5,000–6,000 Kbps on Twitch, 1080p looks excellent. The game's art direction with muted colors and atmospheric lighting compresses efficiently.

Encoder Settings

NVENC

  • Rate Control: CBR
  • Bitrate: 5,000–6,000 Kbps (Twitch) / 8,000–10,000 Kbps (YouTube)
  • Preset: P5 (Slow)
  • Profile: High
  • B-frames: 2

In-Game Settings

Elden Ring has limited graphics options, but optimize what you can:

  • Texture Quality: High or Maximum
  • Antialiasing Quality: High
  • SSAO: Medium
  • Depth of Field: Off (cleaner stream image)
  • Motion Blur: Off (critical for stream quality)
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • Lighting Quality: High
  • Effects Quality: Medium
  • Volumetric Quality: Medium
  • Reflection Quality: Medium
  • Grass Quality: Medium
Note: Elden Ring is capped at 60fps. Don't set your OBS to 120fps — it won't help.

Performance Tips

1. Elden Ring has frame pacing issues — use RTSS (RivaTuner) to cap at 60fps for smoother frame delivery

2. Use NVENC encoding — the game is GPU-heavy

3. Disable Steam overlay to prevent stutters

4. If you experience stuttering in the open world, lower Grass Quality and Volumetric Quality
